Patna:  Bihar Agriculture Minister Prem Kumar today said state government would give grant of Rs. 9 lakhs to farmers to set up primary packaging and processing units for horticulture crops like fruits and vegetables in 23 districts of the state. Mr. Kumar, while replying to debate on budgetary demand of Agriculture department for fiscal 2020-21 in Assembly, said state government would give grant of Rs. 9 lakhs while farmers would have to spend Rs.  One lakh from their own resources for setting up packaging and processing units which would protect them from going for distress sale of horticulture produce. The scheme would be launched in 23 districts of the state while 14 horticulture produce would be covered, he added.
