The animal and fisheries resources department would soon distribute subsidy to the tune of 30% to general category  and 50% to scheduled caste (SC) applicants for setting up poultry farms in the state  The animal husbandry department has fixed an amount of Rs 9 lakh as the cost for developing a single unit of broiler poultry farm. Farmers, belonging to the general category, will receive 30% or Rs 2,70,000 as subsidy for construction of poultry farms, while those from SC/ST community will get 50% subsidy or Rs 4,50,000.
